SUMMARY:Peace: The Other Side of Anger with Dave Wolffe
DESCRIPTION:Author and educator Dave Wolffe will be sharing some ideas on anger and anger management through the use of The Anger Management Power (A.M.P.) Program. \nThis program has been used with over 1\,000 young people (who were part of its development. Some of the changes made to it were a result of participant responses) as well as with parents\, college students (teacher education and dispute resolution programs)\, teachers\, and counselors. \nThe Anger Management Program describes; \n1. A definition of anger management. \n2. The causes of anger\, both obvious and those less so. \n3. The effects of this emotion; physical and emotional\, as well as the thoughts that accompany it. \n4. Anger Management Techniques\, both those to diminish the intensity of this feeling(de-escalators) and those used to express it are provided. \n5. Situations will be developed to which these methods can be applied. \n6. A summary and evaluation process will take place. \nDave Wolffe earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s Degree in Education from Queens College. He has been an educator for over thirty-five years. He taught grades one through nine for most of his tenure with the New York City Board of Education and was a high school guidance counselor for the last thirteen years of his career. He served as an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City for fourteen years where he taught the Sociology of Conflict in the Dispute Resolution Program.
