We’re leaving the snacks and chairs behind at the bookstore and trading them for the refreshing experience of fresh air\, scenic water views\, and community building as we walk and listen to audiobooks. And\, in addition to getting fit\, you’ll have the opportunity to win a $30 Libro.fm gift certificate! (Aww shucks!) \nHere’s how it will work:\n– Beginning May 2nd at 7am meet us at the entrance to Seaside Park (the Arches) for our weekly walk (earn 1 point per each weekly group walk)\n– Join or maintain a Libro.fm membership* throughout the duration of the program (earn 5 points)\n– Purchase a Libro.fm audiobook (earn 2 points per book purchased)\n– Purchase a health/self care Libro.fm audiobook (earn 3 points per book purchased) \nThe person with the most points at the end of August/our last walk will win. DESCRIPTION:Shows at 7:00p and 9:30p \nHe has been called one of the most original stand-up comics in the country\, and his performances have audiences laughing in tears. Michael Blackson\, aka: ‘The African King of Comedy’\, has been entertaining audiences all across the country and around the globe for more than a decade. Inspired by the stand-up comedy of Eddie Murphy\, Blackson began to develop his comedic talent in 1992 in the unkind comedy clubs of Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania. \nBlackson’s comedic appeal grew from his involvement with BET’s ComicView series\, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam\, Showtime at Harlem\, and Live in Hollywood. However\, it was in a Los Angeles comedy club where Blackson got his big break. Blackson was performing at the Comedy Store where actor/director Ice Cube was in attendance to see comedian Mike Epps perform. But after experiencing Blackson’s performance\, Ice Cube invited the young comic for a reading… and the rest is a comedic mark in history! Blackson’s outstanding and unforgettable performance in the smash hit comedy\, Next Friday\, drew praise and a fan following like no other. \nAfter his scene-stealing performance in Next Friday\, fans wanted more\, and in 2005\, Blackson did not disappoint.
