As twilight falls, history and legend walk side by side through downtown Bridgeport—where some stories are preserved in archives, and others refuse to stay buried.
Join the Barnum Museum and author Michael J. Bielawa for a lantern-lit walking tour through the hidden and haunting stories of historic downtown Bridgeport. From Victorian-era crimes and unexplained phenomena to legends of hauntings and strange sightings, this evening stroll reveals a side of Bridgeport few ever see. Remarkably, these stories all unfold within walking distance of the Barnum Museum itself.
Based on research from local archives, historical societies, and interviews, this guided walk invites participants to experience the city’s mysteries where history and legend blur. As darkness settles over downtown, familiar streets take on new meaning, revealing the people, places, and unexplained stories that have become part of Bridgeport’s enduring folklore.
