Groundwork Bridgeport is hosting our 2nd annual Seaside 5K Walk & Run at the historic Seaside Park on Saturday, May 17, 2025! We are excited to host this event as a means to build community, encourage outdoor activity, and raise funds to support our programming and expand our impact. We hope to see you there!

Open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, the race will feature a professionally marked and measured route leaving from the Perry Memorial Arch and proceeding along the coast of the Long Island Sound.

We are offering three events – all entirely within the park and closed to traffic.

1.       5K (3.11mi) route will leave from the monumental Perry Memorial Arch. The course provides a scenic tour along the coast on very flat and accessible roads and sidewalks. You can run or walk in our timed 5K event, all abilities are encouraged and welcome.

2.       One Mile Walk is a wonderful alternative for those not wanting to take on the 5k distance. Families, youngsters, adults, strollers…enjoy a great one mile loop within Seaside Park. Finishers at this distance are not eligible for awards.

3.       Our FREE Kids Fun Run is for 9 years and under ONLY. Parents/guardians can accompany the toddlers if needed.
