Callie Heilmann Appointed Chair of Bridgeport DSSD’s Board of Commissioners

The Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) announced today that Callie Heilmann will assume the role of Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the Downtown Special Services District, effective July 1, 2026. She succeeds Philip Pires, who served as Chair for eight years and will continue to serve as a Commissioner. Ms. Heilmann is the owner of 49-55 Cannon Street in Downtown Bridgeport and is the founder and Co-Director of Bridgeport Generation Now, the civic engagement organization dedicated to strengthening democracy in our city. “The DSSD has made incredible strides in recent years towards a vibrant, culturally rich, and inclusive downtown district.
