The Bridgeport DSSD Opens Nominations for Board of Commissioner Candidates

The Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District’s (DSSD) Board of Commissioners annually elects property owners and leaseholders for a three-year term. The Commissioner Nomination Form will open on Monday, February 2, 2026, to all property owners and leaseholders interested in running for a board seat to begin in fiscal year 2027 (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027).

A training session was held on how to run for election to the Board of Commissioners, including eligibility, what’s involved in serving on the DSSD Board of Commissioners, and the elections process. Submitting the nomination form is the only way to be included on the ballot. The form opens on Monday, February 2, 2026, and closes on Friday, April 3, 2026. Please note that by submitting a Commissioner Nomination Form, you are not automatically selected for a seat on the Bridgeport DSSD’s Board of Commissioners. By submitting the nomination form, you do agree to be included – pending verification of eligibility – on the ballot for election at the Bridgeport DSSD’s annual meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. All members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend the annual meeting.
